How to use the living lab wheel

A practical guiding tool

The Agora Living Lab Wheel is a practical tool that guides you through a collaborative process of co-designing, testing, adapting and evaluating solutions to complex socio-ecological challenges through a three-phase process.

The wheel is your step-by-step guide. It enables you to make practical, approprite decisions on how you want your living lab to work. Prompts nudge you through the process. They help you to identify gaps, and address them with appropriate approaches, before moving forward. There is no right or wrong answer as you navigate the wheel; its purpose is simply to ensure that you make an informed decision for each step.

The living lab process delivered through the wheel is iterative. You are invited to revisit earlier steps whenever necessary. Use what you learn along the way to adjust your Living Lab and continuously improve your solutions.

Throughout the wheel, you will find:

  • Definitions: key terms are explained to provide clarity
  • Methods and tools: access templates, examples, and resources to support your journey
  • References: resources are provided for further reading
